NP information hub

These pages are quick references for NP practice. They are guides only. Always check the official source, such as MBS Online, the PBS Schedule or Services Australia's HPOS, before you request, prescribe or bill.

NP Information Hub​

The NP Information Hub (open in EndorseMe) has two main tabs: MBS Reference and Practice Knowledge. MBS Reference is grouped into Pathology, Radiology, Consultation, Assessment and Medication. The Medications menu item (open) opens the Medication group, which covers medication management and PBS prescribing.

The hub also has an AI clinical assistant, official resources and key information. The assistant says it cannot confirm whether you may request or bill a given MBS item.

Pathology​

Pathology Reference (open) is a searchable catalogue of pathology items for NPs.

Radiology​

Diagnostic Imaging (open) lists diagnostic imaging services for NPs. You can search, show only items NPs can request, browse by imaging type and read key MBS notes. The page says the catalogue is guidance only.

Item numbers​

MBS Item Numbers (open) has tabs for nurse practitioner items and eligible midwife items, and you can export the list.
