Supervisors and referees
The People and letters page keeps track of clinical supervisors, academic supervisors and referees.
Adding someone
- Choose to add a person to your review network.
- Enter their name, email, role, organisation and how they know your practice.
- Save.
Saving a person records the relationship in your workspace only. No email or request is sent until you choose to send one.
Who can write a letter
The page suggests writers from appropriate roles, for example clinical supervisors who have directly overseen your practice, line managers and experienced practitioners who have guided you. A good writer knows your practice well enough to comment on the advanced, clinically based work you want them to support. Letters are support where a formal Statement of Service is not available. The NMBA guidance does not set a universal number of letters.
Tips from the page:
- Ask for the letter on official letterhead.
- Give the writer guidance on what to include.
- Ask them to state their relationship to you.
- Refresh a letter close to submission if the writer or your role has changed.
- Have letters certified before you include them in your portfolio.
You can track requests and upload letters in EndorseMe, or include them directly in your Ahpra submission. Using EndorseMe for letters is optional.
When someone is asked to confirm
If you send a verification request, the person receives a link. On that page they can read the information, tick a box to confirm it is accurate, and select Confirm. If it is not accurate they can Decline, with an optional note. A decline is recorded and nothing is treated as verified.
